At Simply Deep, we love nothing more than presenting you all with an incredible product. Our recent run of releases has seen us delve into a lot of new musical areas, adding a real level of depth to our ever expanding catalogue. Today however we return to our dubstep homeworld, to introduce: IMAJIKA, a 140BPM mastermind, whom we have been keen to work with for quite some time now.

The Leeds based producer has been picking up a serious amount of steam as of late, with his futuristic, murky original rollers causing a stir within any set they are heard upon. He here presents us with an eclectic selection, made up of two pounding originals and four storming remixes.

Let’s begin the title track ‘Almanac’, which touches down with an unnerving introduction, stuffed with incredible atmospheric soundscaping, leading into another crunchy yet swampy breakdown. Next, ‘Hear Now’ arrives, dripping with colourful bass design and sumptuous, fuzzy sub bass structures, allowing the lively drum creations to wreak havoc. Next, IMAJIKA then gets busy on remix duty himself, rebuilding a Simply Deep classic as ‘Mindapple’ from Opus is given a droning rethink.

The rest of the remixes make up the second half of the project, with Imanzi kicking us off, supplying the goods with a skippy, dungeon-fueled overhaul of ‘Hear Now’, followed by an additional more dubwise relick from Arta. Finally, Gleb Ghoutov joins us just in time to knock the EP into the next dimension with his expansive and incredibly well thought shuffling alteration of ‘Almanac’.

This is a top draw body of work from the West Yorkshireman, who delivers on every level.
