"Tending to the low frequency spectrum since 2013 – Simply Deep initially started out as a promotional channel – quickly transcending the notion and setting up a fully-fledged record label. Having had their first release in 2014, the UK-based imprint established itself as a vital part of an open-minded, underground bass music scene with a quality selection of digital releases by talents from around the globe. Besides a two-year residency at Radar Radio, support from BBC Radio Bristol, Magnetic Magazine and FatKidOnFire – they’ve thoroughly prepared to take the scene by storm. The seventh EP release is spearheaded by one of their crew’s finest: Opus. Ingrained with musical prowess, his biweekly Subtle FM residency and A&R position at Simply Deep speak for themselves. Taking large strides forward, the skillful DJ and producer has already secured successful releases with imprints like White Peach, Encrypted Audio or Brighton’s Southpoint.”

Set up like a sonic bomb, the 6-track EP takes no captives - ponderous bass weight sweeping through concrete like butter. ‘Mindapple’ lures us into the sonic chamber and subsequently lets off a massive low-end excursion, combining psychedelic elements with up-front dancefloor qualities – leaving nothing to be desired. Contributing a ridiculous remix, ETHER - one of Denver’s finest distortion wizards – serves dreadful nightmare fuel on a digital platter – beyond good and evil! Commanding a different tone, ‘Clusterfrack’ sets another example of next-level sound – smoothly embedded in between sizzling insanity and a dreadful foundation. Thoroughly taking the original apart, Canada’s Fill Spectre steps up with a granular and fragmented version, dedicated both to the original and his own sonic signature. ‘Alkaline Eyes’ in turn spits emotive vocal slices on top of a no-holds-barred wobble work-out, coherently topped off with its eerie lead as well as a grim, percussive environment. As if it were not enough, ‘Lightbound ft. Flip’ adds an incredible vocal tune to the repertoire – next-level bars on an interstellar instrumental – massive!” - Olaf De Rooij
